Catrina Poor is an American mezzo soprano living in Vienna, Austria. She has performed across Europe, Asia and the United States with companies such as Neue Oper Wien, Oper in der Krypta, der Wiener Staatsopernchor and Kammerchor Wien. Recent roles include Cherubino in Mozart's Nozze di Figaro, Olga in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, die Mutter in Staud’s Die Antilope, Dorabella in Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutte, and Hänsel in Humperdink’s Hänsel und Gretel.

 

Her role as Mussolini Dame with Neue Oper Wien's production of Zykan's Die Staatsoperette was widely featured in publications such as Der Standard, ORF Wien, Der Salzburger Nachrichten and Kronen Zeitung. [see link here]

She holds a Performance Degree in Lied and Oratorio from Prayner Konservatorium für Musik und Dramatische Kunst in Vienna and a Bachelors Degree in Vocal Performance from Lawrence Conservatory in Wisconsin. She has studied under such prestigious artists as Maestro Maksimilijan Cenčić, Professor Walter Moore, and Paulette V. Herbich of the Vienna Staatsoper and Volksoper. In America she performed with conductors such as Bonnie Koestner of the San Fransisco Opera and Glimmerglass Opera of New York and David Becker of the UW Symphony Orchestra and the Madison Symphony.
